Currently Reading
Mr. Timothy
By Louis Bayard
see related

A lot has happened in the past week:

We read through Metamorphoses last Wednesday, it's going to be a fantastic piece, I can't wait, and with exception of an aforementioned few, it should be a fun experience.

Friday through Tuesday we had exams, and I fared normally, as in I got the grade that I already had in the classes on their respective exams. The weekend was essentially boring because I studied the whole time, although I did see ROTK:EE and it is fantastic! Peter Jackson never should have cut Saruman's scene as it added a lot of closure to the subplot that it lacked in the theatrical cut, and it was just plain disrespectful to the hallowed Christopher Lee, a phenomenal actor, huge LOTR fan, and all around cinematic god. I can't wait to see him working again with his good friends Tim Burton and Johnny Depp on Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Welcome additions to ROTK also included The Houses of Healing scenes, and the Mouth of Sauron, featuring the spectacular Bruce Spence. I haven't yet had a chance to see all the extras or watch it with the commentary because it is currently wrapped up under the Christmas tree.

Tuesday night we had a cast party for Mrs. Bob at Culina's and it was a blast, most of the cast was there and it was nice to see everyone together again. At some point during the party I joked about somebody and Jocasta went apeshit, probably because I expressed something she may have feared to be true. At any rate, she knew it was a joke, and proceeded to take offense anyway. I'm starting to get rather tired of her immaturity and lack of any sense of humor. Other than that, the party was fun, although I twice had to rescue Medea from the Roman hands and Russian fingers of her porsine paramour.

In fact, Medea broke it off with Adonis just yesterday. It was a triumph for all who insisted that she was making a mistake in the first place. Adonis made one of the most pitiful, albeit futile, attempts to "win" her back I have ever seen. It was melodramatic and whiny, like something off of a Soap Opera or The OC. Full of "I need you"'s and "My life is nothing without you"'s it was certainly good for a chuckle, and a few snickers, and perhaps even a full blown belly laugh. Anyhow, it was certainly for the best. Well, best for Medea, I couldn't give a rat's ass about him.

Last night Loki had a Board Game Fun Night at his house, and it was rather enjoyable. Only a few people were there, myself, Pluto, Alcmena, Medea, Loki and his sister Sororia. We played Outburst (Jr.), Cranium, and Monopoly, the latter whilst watching Arrested Development, great show. It would have been a blast if we had more people, but the snow prevented that, further proving my theory that God hates Loki.

Today I was awakened by my stupid mother who lost the damn dog. I had to go out at 8 am to look for her, and as it turns out, someone kidnapped her. We got her back, but not after looking for a half hour. After that I had to help dig my sister's car out and de-ice the windows and doors. I have found that the best strategy for de-icing  is not to use a scraper, but to use a rubber mallet. It's amazing what that can do, and hitting the ice with a mallet is so much more satisfying than hacking at it with an ice scraper.

Alas, I must go. My room needs to be cleaned. Mother said I can't have any of my Christmas gifts until I clean it. I told her to bite me, but I'm going to clean it anyway.

Cheers

Tuesday, December 14, 2004

Hello all, again. Sorry for updating so infrequently.

I made Metamorphoses, though I have yet to find out which part I got. Unfrortunately people whom I dislike were cast and someone whom I like and should have been cast, alas, was not. The stupid little bitch whom I dub Erumator has been cast over Acerus, a more worthy actor. Erumator is gratingly effeminate, a sycophantic truckler and sings like the love child of Ann-Margret and the Backstreet Boys, not a bad singer, just annoying and forced. Acerus is a genuine and funny individual, he is also far mor talented than Erumator, but what can you do? Adonis was also cast, to my unsurprised chagrin, keeping him and Medea off each other is going to take vigilance and perhaps a bucket of water. The usual good people were cast, Pluto, Ludo, Loki, Asclepius, Hector, Tohil, and for the first time, Orestes. The director cast a record 36 people, so it will be tantamount to hell to get people focused.

In other news, I have very little to say other than the art teacher gave me a bright idea during art class today. He was talking about how in past years students have cast the staff of my school in famous movies such as Wizard of Oz and Star Wars. I give to you now the staff of SC in Lord of the Rings:

Frodo Baggins- Mike Arends (Wash your hands! You don't know where that ring's been!)

Sam Gamgee- Matt Downey (Though he'd much rather play Rum Tum Tugger)
